Turkcha hosted a dinner led by our dear volunteer and Turkish community member Irem Onalan at Helen’s Place for women experiencing homelessness. The Turkcha community prepared delicious foods for the shelter. Unfortunately we don't have the photos of the yummy food, but we have a photo of some of the volunteers who cooked the food.

With the lead of Zeynep Usta, a successful high schooler and a daughter of Turkcha board member, Turkcha collected winter accessories for the women's shelter, The Sophia Way, and delivered them in person.
• Eid Gift Basket for families •

Eid al Fitr, also called the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan. Turkcha delivered gift baskets((grocery gift card and a box of chocolate) to 41 different families. Thank you our generous supporters to help us to help these families and make them happy for this special day.

This month we have supported local restaurants since pandemic situation was still ongoing, while we providing food for The Sophia Way. A local restaurant in Bellevue, "Ebru Mediterennean Grill", prepared food for the less fortunate people and our community supported us with their donations. Rice, Skewers (Chicken & Lamb), Greek Salad, Lentil soup, Pita and Dolma have been prepared for 40 women.

We went back to our routine this month. Our community cooked food for dinner for The Sophia Way's new emergency shelter, Helen's Place, in Kirkland. We have provided food for 40 people, including store-bought desserts and salads, and brought other essentials like protein bars, water, fruits, and vegetables.
Great to have such a supportive community here!!

This month, considering the pandemic situation, we decided to support local restaurants. A local restaurant in Seattle, "Cafe Turko", prepared food instead of the individuals who are not able to cook or for the people who wants to support the local businesses while donating meal for Sophia Way.We brought a lot of masks and hand sanitizers as well for the guests of The Sophia Way.

When we signed up for bringing some food to 70 women experiencing homelessness, we were wondering if we could bring enough cooked home made food to the temporary shelter. The food was enough for more than 70 people with a lot of help from the community. Everybody was so generous. A lot of people from Turkcha’s community who were not able to cook brought some store bought salad & dessert and fruits.
We are so lucky to have amazing volunteers like you!

TURKCHA was able to help twenty-four women who are having difficulties due to corona virus. With our supporter's generous donations we bought $620 OFC and Safeway gift cards for each of them and delivered them to their homes. Thank you for your support and making these families happy.

TURKCHA celebrated Children's Day at the Emergency Overnight Family Shelter last night. We brought pizzas, chocolates, candies, balloons and a special cake to the children and their families who stay at the shelter. Also, we brought movie tickets and Dairy Queen gift cards for them. We read some stories to the children and gave coloring books, crayons and stickers to them as gifts. Seeing them happy made us happy.
